Bangkok, 15 July 2024 – In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok introduces its 2024 mooncake collection to welcome the season’s beauty and splendour. Mooncakes are a significant part of the celebration, often enjoyed by friends and families before and during the festival. Symbolising love, respect and endurance, they embody a deep connection to cultural roots.
This year, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok is offering a variety of classic and exquisite flavours with its range of mooncakes to delight your taste buds. The decadent treat of the season is prepared using the finest premium ingredients combined with traditional mooncake recipes that have withstood the test of time.
The Mooncakes
The collection features an assortment of six different mooncakes, including crowd-pleasers such as Chinese Chestnut & Macadamia and Orange Yuzu & Macadamia, which come bursting with citrusy notes. For those who appreciate the classics, the hotel’s selection of all-time favourites is sure to satisfy; from the well-loved signature Lotus Seed with Egg Yolk mooncakes to the more traditional ‘Ngao Ying’ Five Assorted Nuts with Egg Yolk mooncakes.
Back by popular demand is the all-time best seller Monthong Durian with Egg Yolk. It has a very aromatic and distinctive taste and is filled with an indulgent egg yolk for a well-balanced flavour combination.
Among the variety of delicious mooncakes is this year’s newest addition, Green Tea with Pistachio. It has a velvety smooth paste with a subtle matcha flavour that melts in your mouth with each bite. The crushed pistachio lends a pleasant crunch that contrasts beautifully with the paste.
The Box
The mooncakes are presented in tiers of octagonal boxes inspired by the traditional tiffin carrier. The box features a captivating light maroon colour with an intricate design depicting dragon scales. This design holds great significance in Chinese culture as the dragon symbolises power, wisdom and strength. The visually stunning dragon scales embody the essence of the invincible protective armour of the majestic dragon. Maroon, evoking beauty and grandeur, signifies prosperity in Chinese culture and is believed to attract good fortune.
While the mooncake box represents auspiciousness, it is also a versatile and exquisite piece that can be used as storage or as a keepsake. Its beautiful design is perfect for gifting to family, friends or business associates, adding a touch of elegance to the occasion.
