Dear AustCham Members,
Greetings from AustCham Thailand!
August has been a vibrant and full-on month for AustCham, from strategic appointments to networking events and charitable efforts. Your enthusiasm and engagements across these events are a true testament to the strength and dynamism of our community. Here’s some highlights for the month!
We are thrilled with the appointment of Frank Holzer as the next Executive Director of AustCham. Frank brings in a wealth of experience and is well known to the AustCham community. We look forward to Frank’s leadership in driving forward our chamber and further strengthening our community. Congratulations, Frank!
We had a stellar Sundowner at the Bangkok SO/ along with an insightful pre-event briefing on “Holistic Health Revolution”, sponsored by Bumrungrad International Hospital. The BDO-sponsored Sundowners in the vibrant city of Phuket was also a resounding success and it was great seeing so many new joiners from the local communities. Additionally, our SME coffee morning session which focused on actionable insights and practical tips in enhancing personal and corporate branding on LinkedIn was extremely well-received. Speaking from personal experience and having now spent more than a year in Thailand, I’ve truly valued the business connections and new friendships fostered from these events.
The AustCham CSR committee had a busy month supporting various marque events. Whilst we were all watching the 2024 Olympics games in full swing, a well turned out group of enthusiastic golfers participated in Fenix’s charity golf event. Special thanks to Fenix XCell and GolfAsian who raised THB400,000 to support AustCham’s CSR initiatives.
Big shoutout also to Thailand Tiger for partnering with AustCham to raise funds for Hands Across the Water as well as hosting the first AFL Asian Champs Networking Night in collaboration with Advance Australia Council. It was a delightful evening of engaging discussions with leading football personalities. We are grateful for all the generous contributions and please stay tuned for more upcoming opportunities for giving back to the community including the ‘Run to Remember 2024’.
As we look ahead, I can’t wait for the sumptuous Aussie meat pies at our flagship event, the AFL Grand Final Family Day on 28th Sept. Please also mark your calendars for the September Sundowners, SME coffee as well as the exclusive CEO Breakfast Briefing.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support and generosity in helping our community. We look forward to connecting with you soon!
A final word to wish Thailand Tigers all the best at the Saturday AFL Asian Championship at Chonburi as well as all our Paralympians @ Paris 2024 – go Thailand !
Warm regards,
Yvonne Foo
