Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park is inviting its experience-seeking guests and local residents to celebrate Loy Krathong, Thailand’s enchanting “Festival of Lights”, with a choice of culinary occasions at Asiatique The Riverfront, the heritage-rich dining, retail and entertainment destination on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
Staged every November, Loy Krathong is a truly exquisite festival. Under the soft glow of the full moon, Thai people gather at lakes and rivers across the country to light candles and release their handcrafted krathongs (woven vessels usually made from banana leaves and flowers) onto the water, creating a wonderfully spiritual ambiance. On Friday November 15th, 2024, Thai residents, expats and international visitors can mark this charming time of year with a choice of dining experiences at three riverside restaurants: Sirimahannop, The Crystal Grill House, and Asiatique Ancient Tea House.
At Sirimahannop, the reimagined tall ship which is now permanently docked at Asiatique The Riverfront, guests can step aboard and embark on a global culinary voyage. A dazzling array of seafood platters and live stations will showcase a variety of tempting Thai and international dishes to tantalize the taste buds. Every table will also be presented with a complimentary krathong and a live DJ will keep the party going until 23.00 hrs. The live station buffet is priced at THB 1,899 net per person, while a curated à la carte menu is also available, and a free-flow drinks package is available for THB 2,000++.
Alternatively, guests can opt to dine in the glamorous surroundings of The Crystal Grill House, the sparkling glasshouse steak and seafood restaurant. A special Loy Krathong menu will showcase a selection of enticing appetizers, prime steaks cooked on the Josper Grill, succulent seafood and more! Must-try dishes include Rangers Valley Infinite wagyu striploin steak, which has a marbling score of 7+, a 14-day dry-aged bone-in ribeye steak which simply melts in the mouth, and locally sourced jumbo tiger prawns, chargrilled to perfection. Naturally, every meal can end on a sweet note with a selection of desserts, and every booking will receive a complimentary krathong.
With a choice of seating, either at the elegant riverside terrace or in glistening glass-enclosed private dining pods, this will be an unforgettable evening for couples and friends alike. À la carte dishes are priced individually and minimum spending requirements apply, depending upon the seating area.
Finally at Asiatique Ancient Tea House, the sensitively restored, century-old wooden teahouse overlooking the “River of Kings”, guests can come together for a magical Loy Krathong with a carefully prepared à la carte menu accompanied with specially crafted Loy Krathong cocktails – the perfect blend of tradition and taste. A minimum spend of THB 1,200++ applies for November 15th. And for truly memorable occasions, the venue’s second floor and restaurant can be hired for private parties!
Nestled on the waterside at Asiatique The Riverfront, Sirimahannop, The Crystal Grill House, and Asiatique Ancient Tea House are all easily accessible by road and river, including shuttle boat services from the pier next to Saphan Taksin BTS skytrain station.
