Bangkok, Thailand, March 3, 2025 – The Siam Tea Room, the elegant waterside dining destination at Asiatique The Riverfront, is inviting guests to indulge in the refreshing flavors and heady fragrances of khao chae, a culinary sensation steeped in Thailand’s royal heritage, overlooking the Chao Phraya, the iconic “River of Kings”.
Throughout March, April and May, local residents and international visitors can come together and experience “Khao Chae Chao Phraya”, an exclusive set menu of chilled floral rice with a series of sublime side dishes. Literally meaning “soaked rice”, this seasonal specialty was refined by the royal Thai court during the reign of King Rama V (1868-1910) and has become the traditional taste of summertime in Thailand.

This year’s khao chae selection at The Siam Tea Room, Asiatique the Riverfront is more luxurious than ever before! Having been greeted with an enticing appetizer of grilled pineapple with dried chili, golden beans & dried shrimp, and a welcome drink of lychee with salty bitter orange and young ginger syrup, topped with grilled shallots & peanuts, guests will embark on an immersive culinary adventure that transports their senses back to a charming bygone era.
Premium Thai jasmine rice in cool, aromatic floral water is accompanied with an extended menu of 21 premium delights that reflect the rich history of Thailand. Classic side dishes include fried young pepper stuffed with pork & shrimp in fluffy egg, fried dried chilies stuffed with sweet fish, fried marinated shrimp paste bun, sweet shredded fish, sweet pickled turnip, sweet shredded pork, deep-fried salted egg, and fresh mixed vegetables.
Diners will also be able to savor handcrafted delicacies such as sweet pickled turnip spring rolls, fried snakehead fish with coconut sugar sauce, crispy fish in spicy sweet & sour sauce, marinated pork with crab topped with egg yolk, fried pork marinated in salted fish wrapped in eggs, roasted coconut mango salad, sweet shredded beef in coriander seeds, fried butterfly pea stuffed with chicken, deep-fried shallots stuffed with chicken, sweet crispy dried shrimp, stir-fried dried salmon with palm sugar, and fresh mango charbel with sweet fish syrup & dried shrimp.
