Position: Business Development and Membership Officer
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
Overview: The Australian Chamber of Commerce (AustCham) in Thailand is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development and Membership Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for expanding our membership base, fostering relationships with current and potential members, and driving business development initiatives to promote AustCham’s objectives and enhance the Australian business community’s presence in Thailand. Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Thai is imperative.
Key Responsibilities
1. Membership Development:
- Implement strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Develop and execute membership growth plans aligned with AustCham’s objectives.
- Coordinate outreach programs, events, and campaigns to engage potential members.
- Maintain accurate membership records and databases.
2. Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with current and prospective members.
- Serve as a point of contact with primary membership officer for member inquiries, needs, and feedback.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure member satisfaction and engagement.
3. Business Development:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand AustCham’s business interests in Thailand.
- Develop and implement business development plans to increase revenue streams.
- Explore partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to benefit AustCham and its members.
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
4. Event Coordination:
- Support in organizing events, seminars, workshops, and networking sessions.
- Assist in marketing and promoting events to members and the broader business community.
- Coordinate with vendors, speakers, and sponsors for successful event execution.
5. Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare regular reports on membership growth, business development activities, and event outcomes.
- Contribute content for newsletters, website updates, and other communication channels.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication with members regarding benefits, events, and opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations, or related field.
- Proven experience (7 years) in business development, membership management, or relevant roles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong networking abilities and a proactive approach to relationship-building.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Thai language is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CRM software and membership management systems.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
Additional Information:
- This role may require occasional travel within Thailand and overseas.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends for events when necessary.
