Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, the Langsuan luxury and lifestyle landmark, presents the first solo exhibition by superbly talented, neurodivergent artist Mix Anusone Tunarin at the 30th-floor Maa-Lai Library from 24 September to 20 October 2024. Mix is a member of the Artstory by Autistic Thai, a social enterprise that supports autistic kids and adults in Thailand.
The exhibition will showcase exceptional artworks that express Mix’s elaborative imagination and beautiful mind through various art techniques. He brings fantastical designs and mythical creatures to life on canvas, with showstopping pieces including Fiery Phoenix, an acrylic red, yellow and gold masterpiece seven months in the making, and The Four-Face Ganesha, an intricate painting of Ganesha which pays homage to Rachathiwat Temple. This bold work features the Om symbol and the three forms of God that make up the Hindu Trimurti — Brahma, the creator; Vishnu, the preserver; and Shiva, the destroyer.
Founded in 2018 and supported by the Autistic Thai Foundation, Artstory’s primary goal is to enhance and develop the skills of autistic adults and children to enable them to express their imagination and feelings in artistic works and products. Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok’s support for Artstory already runs deep, having commissioned the group to design its sold-out 2024 Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok Dragon Lantern mooncake box design.
In light of IHG’s Giving for Good, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok shines a spotlight on this very deserving Thai artist in keeping with its dedication to “true hospitality through good” alongside a line-up of other activities by IHG colleagues worldwide. Giving for Good takes place annually in September where IHG dedicates the entire month to giving back.
Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok is proud to reaffirm its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering an environment that goes beyond gender equality. We aim to create career opportunities for neurodivergent individuals, and we are honoured to have neurodivergent staff as an integral part of our team. We ensure that our spaces are welcoming and accessible to everyone, including guests and employees from all walks of life. As we continue to expand our efforts, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok remains dedicated to promoting an inclusive culture that embraces and celebrates all people, ensuring that every person who walks through our doors feels valued and supported.
Spearheading the collaboration, Shane Jameson, Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok and Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok, Vignette Collection, an IHG Hotel, expressed his passion for the initiative, stating, “I’m so proud to represent Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok and take part in IHG’s DAWN employee network—a Disability and Wellbeing Network that provides a safe space for members to share their experiences of living with health conditions or disabilities. This exhibition extends the message of our sold-out mooncake packaging this year, which received tremendous support from the local community in embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
“With the unwavering support of its management and employees, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok has created a heartwarming experience, continually breaking down barriers and norms. This collaboration brings together all parts of the community through creativity and goodwill.”
