Shrewsbury, stands out among international schools in Thailand, with the highest number of awards bestowed upon students. These accolades, coupled with the remarkable exam results of the 2022-2023 school year, showcase Shrewsbury’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded and capable individuals.
Shrewsbury Bangkok Riverside students received a total of 45 exam awards, with 29 Pearson Edexcel and 16 Cambridge International Education awards bestowed upon scholars. The awards were given across several categories: Top in the World, Top in Thailand or High Achievement. They were received in multiple subjects, including Biology, Coordinated Sciences, Design and Technology, Economics, History and English Literature.
“It is an astounding achievement to have received 45 Outstanding Learner Awards. I’d attribute this to the school’s culture that encourages students to strive for success and having the teachers and staff members in place to support them in every possible way.” Sonya Papps, Vice-Principal (Head of Senior), said.
Kankorn (Mos) Hirunsap, current Year 12 student at Shrewsbury Riverside and recipient of the Cambridge Top in the Thailand award for Literature in English reflects on his achievement:
“With consistent (and early) preparation and support from teachers and peers, I was highly motivated, and this drive translated into this remarkable result,” Mos said. “Despite Literature and English being a challenging subject for me in the past, the school’s endless support for me to pursue a subject I was passionate about is proof that the curriculum goes beyond textbooks and takes into consideration what the student is interested in – resulting in holistic development and even being better-prepared for university.”
