Malaysia Airlines wishes to provide all passengers with the latest updates on COVID-19 restrictions and requirements to aide your travel arrangements.
- Until 31 July 2021, passengers and airline crew are not allowed to enter and transit. This does not apply to:
- nationals and residents of Thailand;
- passengers who are spouses, parents or children of a national of Thailand;
- passengers who are visa exempt;
- passengers with a visa issued by Thailand;
- nationals of Australia, China (People’s Rep.), Japan, Korea (Rep.), Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Viet Nam with an APEC Business Travel Card arriving from the country that issued the APEC Business Travel Card;
- passengers with a Chinese Taipei (on the cover: Republic of China Taiwan) passport with an APEC Business Travel Card arriving from the country that issued the APEC Business Travel Card;
- residents of Hong Kong (SAR China) with an APEC Business Travel Card arriving from Hong Kong (SAR China);
- students;
- passengers transiting through Bangkok (BKK);
- passengers traveling to Phuket (HKT) or Na Thon (Ko Samui (USM)) if, in the past 21 days they have only been in, and arrive from Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China (People’s Rep.), Chinese Taipei, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Dominic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong (SAR China), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland (Rep.), Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (Rep.), Kuwait, Lao People’s Dem. Rep., Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao (SAR China), Malta, Mauritius, Monaco, Morocco, Myanmar, Mongolia, Netherlands New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russian Fed., San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan or Vietnam;
- Passengers arriving from Bangladesh, India, Nepal or Pakistan are not allowed to enter. This does not apply to:
- nationals of Thailand;
- passengers with a diplomatic passport and their family members.
- Passengers entering or transiting through Thailand must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The test result must be in English.
- This does not apply to nationals of Thailand;
- Passengers must have a Certificate of Entry (COE) issued by Royal Thai Embassy, and download the ThailandPlus App and register by using COE number and reference code.
- Passengers entering or transiting through Thailand must have insurance to cover medical expenses in Thailand with a coverage cost of at least USD 100,000.
- This does not apply to nationals of Thailand.
- Nationals of Thailand travelling under the Phuket or the Samui Plus Sandbox programs must have insurance to cover medical expenses in Thailand with a coverage cost of at least USD 100,000.
- Nationals of Thailand travelling to Phuket (HKT) or Na Thon (Ko Samui (USM)) under the Phuket or the Samui Plus Sandbox, must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued at most 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The test result must be in English.
- Passengers traveling to Phuket (HKT) or Na Thon (Ko Samui (USM)) when arriving from Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China (People’s Rep.), Chinese Taipei, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Dominic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong (SAR China), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland (Rep.), Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (Rep.), Kuwait, Lao People’s Dem. Rep., Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao (SAR China), Malta, Mauritius, Monaco, Morocco, Myanmar, Mongolia, Netherlands New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russian Fed., San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan or Vietnam;
- are subject to a COVID-19 RT-PCR test upon arrival; and
- must have a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival. Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), AZD1222 (SK Bioscience Co Ltd.), Covidshield, Janssen, Moderna , Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm and Sinovac.
- This does not apply to passengers younger than 18 years traveling with their fully vaccinated parents/guardians.
- Passengers traveling to Phuket (HKT) must have proof of payment for a Safety and Health Administration (SHA+) accommodation for the period of intended stay.
- Passengers traveling to Phuket (HKT) or Na Thon (Ko Samui (USM), must have a return/onward ticket for a flight departing from Phuket to another country within 14 days.
- This does not apply to nationals and residents of Thailand.
- Passengers traveling to Na Thon (Ko Samui (USM)) must have:
- proof of payment for Samui Extra+ and Safety and Health Administration (SHA+) accommodation for the period of intended stay; and
- proof of payment for COVID-19 tests in Ko Samui.
- Passengers are subject to medical screening.
- Nationals of Thailand are subject to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.
- This does not apply when traveling to Phuket (HKT) or Na Thon (Ko Samui (USM)) with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival. Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), AZD1222 (SK Bioscience Co Ltd.), Covidshield, Janssen, Moderna , Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm and Sinovac.
- Suspension of visa on arrival facilities.
- Suspension of visa exemption for nationals of Cambodia and Myanmar with a normal passport.
